Seafood Market at Le Méridien Dubai: A Review of the Longstanding Dining Institution
Since 1992, Seafood Market has been a fixture on Dubai’s dining scene. Housed within Le Méridien Dubai Hotel & Conference Centre, the restaurant offers a personalised experience: guests select their produce, sauce and preferred cooking method, whether grilling, baking or another preparation. Finding the venue requires a short outdoor walk from the main hotel entrance, where it sits tucked away in its own dedicated space. The setting is spacious, making it well suited to larger groups who want to dine without interruption. A walk through the aisle of the day’s freshest catches reveals crabs, lobsters, prawns, sea bream, hammour and plenty more to choose from.
Menu Highlights

The meal began with a complimentary amuse-bouche: crispy Sesame Prawn Toast and Vegetable Spring Roll, described as a favourite among diners. Both worked well with the Thai green chilli sauce, sweet and sour sauce and chilli garlic oil served at the table. From the sushi bar, the Spider Maki starter combined sushi rice, soft-shell crab and avocado. Next came the Grilled Omani Jumbo Prawns, coated in a spicy chilli sauce that delivered heat without overwhelming the tender prawns. The Salt & Pepper Calamari was perfectly cooked, crisp and lightly seasoned, making it easy to keep returning for more.
Must-Try Dishes

For the mains, the Omani Lobster in lemon butter sauce was rich and buttery, with the lemon cutting through the sauce’s richness. The Local Red Snapper Steamed in black bean sauce stood out as a favourite, its rich, savoury flavour complementing the tender fish. The Black Pepper Crab was another highlight, the pepper adding a spicy edge to the crab meat. The mains were accompanied by garlic & egg fried rice and wok-fried vegetables and mushrooms in oyster sauce.
To finish, homemade gelato was served. The cheesecake flavour captured the creamy, tangy character of cheesecake with pieces of biscuit base mixed in, while the dining partner chose the black sesame gelato.
